MADE IN BARCELONA
SuperSax Project was formed in early 2014 by a group of young professionals who make up the new generation of the modern music scene today. The project quickly drew attention, and we have had the opportunity to perform in several concerts and festivals, including, among others, Jazz a la Boca, Jazz at Conservatory del Liceu, Club Velvet, Robadors 23 and Albareda Cultural Center. These festivals have always had the presence of musicians of high reputation in today’s jazz scene in Spain, such as Ernesto Aurignac, Gorka Benítez, Víctor Correa, Víctor de Diego, Vicent Macian, Jon Robles, Gabriel Amargant, Fèlix Rossy, etc.
With eleven musicians on stage, we intend to convey an alternative, avant-garde vision of jazz, combining tradition and modernity, while introducing the peculiarity of harmonized melodies and solos for five saxophones, a soloist brass section and a rhythm section.
